I thought this quote was quite important as well, when I was reading. I thought he brought up a good point when he stated that maybe Christ wasn't poor, but maybe the church was. Then he continued to say that owning a palace doesn't necessarily mean that one is well off. Rather, making decisions on an "earthly" matter is what distinguished that point. I agree with Cheryl when she said that we can't take this literally , but rather for it's roots, because it's the power that this dabate is struggling for.
