One should also mention the corruption that this whole debate brought about and for precisely those reasons. THe people who liked the church having money did so, not because of biblical reasons, but of earthly ones. They were benefitting from being able to pay to be absolved instead of actually recieving absolution. It was also beneficial to the monk or priest that accepted the money. The people who suppotrted the poverty of Crist did so because they truly wish to model their lives after Christ. Those who did not, caused greed, corruption and division in the church as a whole.
