Is this a true story? Reading this "preface" makes one think a little different about the whole book. If this is Eco truly talking through some ancient texts he had found one can understand this novel a bit better. He searched through texts and history to tell this tale, Adso's tale. This whole idea brings up the thought of having to go through the library to find the answrs that the main characters are looking for. If this is a true story this book has just become that much more interesting to me. If it is not, what a great idea for a book!!
