By reading Labor's Untold Story, I realize that America was never a free country, and is not stand for equality and freedom. Chapter three and five in LUS, discusses the atrocities and struggles Americans experienced at work. When they immigrated to America, they thought America would provide a better future, higher wages, and a greater opportunity. They worked long hours, but their earnings was extremely low. The owners of the company were making the profits as the workers were struggling to pay their rent.
The workers were angry for their low income and protested. Violence broke out in many cities. Members of the labor movement were framed and thrown in jail without a trial. The owners feared that the workers were embracing Socialism.
LUS, Freedom Road, 10 days that Shook the World made me realize that the government were hiding the truth from the public. Throughout the Vietnam War, we have been told lies and offical documents have been fabricated in the benefit of the U.S.
