Reading and understanding a book like LUS is an incredibly important tool in the comprehension of today's current. More then even the specific event themselves, the book is about the circumstances and contexts of the events, and about a way of perceiving the events, i.e. through the concept of class based conflict. Why were strikers and organizers met with such savage and ultraviolent resistance from their bosses? It seems very strange and illogical when viewed from a point of view such as those presented in the official histories and in the mass media, but when viewed from a point of view that understands the concept of class based conflict, one can see that there is certainly a method to the madness of the bosses'. The comprehension of the class based analysis goes very far towards demystifying any number of puzzling historical events, from the eeradication of the indians, right up to the Vietnam War and to today's current events.
