Coming from a Catholic School upbringing, its interesting to hear people talk about history being distorted, or glorified. As far back as Sixth Grade, I can remember history classes that dealt with the Labor Unions in a positive light. And this wasn't just a foornote either. There were whole chapters dedicated to the labor unions and their fight for equality.

However, that is not to say certain truths were not left untold. There was a lot of "cheerleading" in the name of the USA; a lot of stories left out of books and lectures. It wasn't until my final years of high school that I learned about such things as the Electoral College and why it was REALLY instituted; or the views of our founding fathers while drafting the Constitution. This course has been a real eye-opener for me. I really thought most people were pretty much getting the same education as I was. It is a real shame.
