I am definetly in agreement with Jen and Samanta. What they said was close to my beliefs, because it was drilled into the heads of the american soldiers that this war was a kill or be killed war, which I believe it was. The soldiers were very young and impressionbale, whatever was told to them they believed. Like Jen and Samantha said, the Kill or be Killed excuse could not be used in the cases of Artocities or Massacres. In my eyes there is no excuse for killing little kids or women if there are no armed Viet Cong around, although you still have to be aware that the all Vietnamese were possible enemies.
