After reading Mr. Rosillos message, I must say that I agree with him one hundred percent. We, as Americans over in Vietnam, could not differentiate between friends and foes. You could not trust anybody. He made a very intelligent point by stating that the American soldiers would give cans of food to the children, and then days later the same Americans would die in a trap set by those very cans. We, the judging Americans, need to understand that life was difficult over there. It was not a civilized society. If you trust someone over here and they betray you, then you have lost a friend, or your heart gets broken. If you trust someone over there and they betray you, then you are dead. What were the soldiers suppossed to think? When you are trapped in a world where you can not even trust little children, then what kind of attitude did we expect them to portray? A kill or be killed attitude was all that they had. It was what they were forced to live by. When you are drafted for a war and thrown into a heavy line of fire, then what choice have you? You have no choice.
