I agree very strongly with Mr. Powell, in that the Vietnam War was a kill or be killed war. I am most definitely not that kind of person but if I was thrown into the war situation, I am sure that I would become a little more hostile. He also states that this kind of war tends to dull our perceptions of what is right and wrong. I think he has to define a little more clearly what right and wrong is. My personal opinion is that if you think someone is going to try and kill you, then you damn well have the right to shoot them first. Call me hostile, cal me brutal, but I think that this is how most people would think. I don't like to make assumptions like that, but I generally think that kill or be killed is human nature. They were spraying the chemical on all the Vietnamese's plants. I think that this is worse than just walking up to someone and shootiing them. This type of warfare is worse than actually walking up to someone and shooting them. One can tell from my statement that I am in strong disagreement with Powell on his last statement. I think it make a big difference to the people that are looking at the war from the outside as to whether or not someone is shot or starved.
