I think that this viewpoint is pretty correct. Although, I think you are generalizing your opinions a little bit too much. Sure, we talk about the Vietnamese a lot. A lot of horrible things were done to them. Most of these done by the U.S. My point is that while most studies on the Vietnam War are from the Vietnamese side, it is important that we look at both sides equally. A lot of people might disagree with me, but if we look at the war from only the American perspective, I feel that we are assigning a lot of blame to the Vienamese.
