It seems to me that the only objective in Vietnam from the war itself to the My Lai Massacre was that if you were a human being, you were going to die. If you were a plant, as evidenced by the forerunner of Agent Orange, you were to die as well. There seems to be a lot of debate as to who or what was supposed to be killed. The irony of this whole debacle is that we're supposed to be the good guys, and yet we had this mentality to kill and obliterate anything and everything that did so much as breathe, as proven by the peasant in black pajamas who was killed just because he looked suspicious. There wasn't even an investigation to see who he was and what he was doing there. It makes you really wonder what we were doing there to begin with, but the information has got more sides than a Rubik's cube, and the incidents were just as hard to figure out.
