Jeanine is totally right. There was no way this country was actually fighting the Vietnam war to defend the South, the North, the poor, or even communism. They could care less. This country found a solution to becoming richer and it seems they are far from backing down. Rip off the poor countries. Why not? They aren't going to do anything. They're not going to shoot nuclear bombs at us. We were in Vietnam because we didn't want them to become independent, and establish a strong government, because that would mean we couldn't abuse the hell out of them. Not only that, lets say we left Vietnam alone. Other poor countries would want to do the same thing. Go over to Vietnam, and show the rest of those countries what we are going to do to them if they try the same thing was the U.s. way to do things. Goes back to Nixon's "madman" tactics.
All these little things keep making more and more sense. Always when you look at the most powerful countries, you must also always see what it is they have done to get were they are. It most cases they will do anything. United states is all just buisness as usual. keep the big man high, keep the little man down.
