"Today's less developed nations are tomorrow's richest economic and political asset." (C. Douglas Dillon) This is precisely true with the situation in Vietnam. The greed of the American capitalists is unbelieveable. To start a war for the sake of greed! Obviously the United States is thinking more about money, than the welfare of other nations, not to mention the welfare of their own citizens!

The United States attempted to conquer the other imperialist countries by curbing the resources and cheap labor assets in the Vietnam. Feeling threatened by the rise in superpowers, like japan, the united States invested massive amounts of money in Third World countries - and the profit really shows! From 1956 - 1965 the United States invested $9 billion in 'poor countries' only to end up with $25.6 billion as a profit! the numbers are stunning!

The United States is cashing in on the "Highly profitable slave trade." (Page 7) that is all these poor workers are - slaves. By paying the workers in Third World countries a couple of pennies a day, the United States is really cheating themselves. Being that the consumer market in the United States gets no discount on the products made overseas, why not stay in the country and support the local men and women who need jobs. The United States would greatly benefit from it. There would be a low number of unemployment, resulting is less taxes because of the lack of welfare. There would be less crime because more people would have jobs and less need to steal. Overall, the benefits to the United States greatly outweighs the benefits to the Third World countries, but the businesses would never evacuate from a market so profitable.

In fact, the United States has become dependent on these 'poor countries.' Without them, the profit would not be so high and that is what it is all about anyway - the money.

As for the third World countries, it becomes their lives to produce American goods and to perform American services. "The "purpose" of the entire country is not to feed and clothe itself but to enrich the U.S. ruling class." (Page 9)
