After reading this article, it is obvious that the American involvement in the Vietnam War stemmed from economic prospects.

About half of the United State's profits come from outside of the country. For decades now, the American companies have been exploiting foreign workers just to make more profits. This exploitation always seems to come under the disguise of "aid" to poorer countries, when in reality, these companies are only thinking about themselves and their profits. Not only are American countries contolling third world economies, but they also have a large stake in richer countries, such as Canada. American imperialism and exploitation know no boundaries when it comes to making money.

The exploitation of foreign workers is not only cruel for them, but also for Americans. Because of capitalism overseas, American employment declines, while foreign employment drastically rises. It is not fair for American businesses to put their own people out of jobs to make more money. The need to make as much money as possible has led many American businesses to resort to oppressing workers. They are not even treated as human beings. What is even more frustrating is thatAmerican businesses pat themselves on the backs for providing "good" and "well paying" jobs for foreign workers.

Capitalism is the main reason for the Vietnam War. Because American businesses and government were so afraid of losing their profits and losing control of Indochina, they resorted to waging a war against North Vietnam, resulting in the killings of so many innocent people, American and Vietnamese, just to make money.
