In light of the reading that was assigned for Friday's class, it is evident that there is no way out of the imperialist capatalism methods that started in the 1960s. Because of the fact that big American businesses enjoy dirt cheap labor costs maintained by military intervention that is often violent, it is becoming excedingly dificult, if not impossible, for domestic businesses to successfully compete without exploiting the rights of workers from foreign lands. As for the oppressed people in these developing nations, hopes for freedom from military dictatorship is rapidly diminishing. As the US government continually utilizes American tax dollars to protect and support American corporate investment in these nations, the people in these regions remain at a status comparable to indentured servitude. While the article is poorly written and is lacking even a preliminary edit, the message is clear: Because of the huge profits enjoyed by our nation's corporate society, overseas labor practices have worsened as American investment has grown. The people in these regions lack the basic inalienable rights are country claims to uphold and protect.
