Looking at Imperialism as a "blue print" is quite an interesting way of putting it. The basics of imperialism would have to be going across seas to poorer countries and opening up factories, giving jobs to many of the unemployed. When it comes to resources, we would offer even trades to the countries for their valuable natural resources. When people stray away from the original blue print of imperialism, morality becomes a big question.
Businessmen don't see money when it comes to imperialism blue prints. They start to have their own versions of what imperialism should be in order to make huge profits. Instead of having normal hours and pay in foreign factories, they use desperate people to work horrible hours for little pay. Instead of obtaining a countries natural resources by equal trade, we take them in return for our so called "aid" or we just plain old take the resources.
Imperialism on paper sounds good, but when people's greediness and immoralities come into play, they start to stray from what imperialism should be and they use their own version of it. This version normally consists of the exploitation of people, and these versions are what give imperialism a bad name.
