Capitalism and imperialsim as "blueprints" is a good theory, but in reality, is imperialism ever moral? The whole reason American countries move their businesses overseas is to gain cheaper labor and continue to sell the products for the same cost. For what other reason would these companies close down factories in America and open them overseas? Imperialism is immoral from the get go. It will never be moral, no matter how well an imperialist country treats the country they are exploiting.
Imperialism and Racism also go hand in hand. To an extent, imperialism is caused by racism. If any imperialist country had respect for other cultures, they would not try to take them over, regardless of the reason. Imperialist countries see money, not human life. The reason these countries are exploited in the first place is because imperialist countries have the attitude that they are superior and they have the right to the materials, land, and cheap labor. People in third world countries are so below them that they would actually be grateful for any job they can get. Many times, imperialists regard the workers as children or slaves, who have no feelings or rights. This is a direct result of imperialism.
I agree with Mr. Randolph that it doesn't necessarily have to be like this, but in reality, as long as there is such a thing as imperialism, it will always be like this. The imperialist country can treat these people well and even pay them well, but no matter how they treat the people, they can never make up for the fact that they are there in the first place.
