I have to disagree with you, Amanda. I think in a situation like Vietnam, it would be stupid to go. But of course I'm saying this after I know what "supposedly" went on behind the closed doors. If I was called to serve my country then, (knowing what I know now, of course), I wouldn't go. I would do everything in my power to dodge it. As far as draft dodgers go, I respect them just as much as those that went to war. And in some cases, I don't think they were all just wimping out. Going to war doesn't make you anymore of a wo/man. Think for a second: you have a family, children, a good job, a dog... I would not be willing to put my life on the line for my country. And maybe to some of you, that makes me weak. I know I'm going to get crap for this opinion, but this is what I believe and I can't change that. We (the US) get involved in everyone else's wars. In my opinion, I think we should draft the politicians instead. No one will notice they're gone anyway... This would be a great way to clean out congress.
