Must include: 

     Two courses in aspects of American government

     One course in comparative politics or international politics

     One course in political thought

     One course on women in politics

Course Work in Related Social Sciences*

 

History (18 s.h.)

     Two courses in U.S. history

     One course in European history

     One course in non-western history

     One course in history of Black Americans

     One elective course

     Note:  Two of these courses must be at 300 level or above (500 for M.A.T. candidates)

Anthropology or Sociology (3 s.h.)

     ANTH 110 Anthropology of Multicultural America or equivalent OR

     SOCI 202  Racial and Ethnic Relations or equivalent

Economics (3 s.h.)

     ECON 100 Introduction to Economics, Macro-Economics OR
     ECON 215 Economics of Social Problems

Geography (3 s.h.)

     One course in cultural, local, regional or world geography

Religion (3 s.h.)

     One course in religions of the world

 

*NOTE:  History and Social Science courses completed with grades of C or higher prior to entering this program will be accepted.  The number of credits in each area will be correspondingly reduced; remaining courses will be determined after evaluation of student’s academic record.
