     Mission     

     The Institute for the Humanities is a non-profit organization based within the College of the Humanities and Social Sciences at Montclair State University. Founded in 1979 the Institute's purpose is to promote interest in, and appreciation of the humanities. The Institute operates a very active outreach program for secondary school students and their teachers in New Jersey, offering conferences and workshops several times per semester, designed either for teachers (curriculum development) or teachers and students combined.
