| Welcome to the What's New Web page, this page lets you know about new additions to our College of Humanities and Social Sciences web site. Here are some of the new projects you will see, and a few that are coming online soon.
How Do I....? Need a quick answer to a computer problem? You can now search for answers to
common questions and find tips without calling the help line. Try it out
here. If you
cannot find what you are looking for, you can submit your question through the web site for an
answer. Also if you have any questions and tips you'd like to see added, please submit them
here.
Events
The CHSS community can now post their events and announcements online through this
web
page .
The Administrative Calendar The Administrative Calendar has been put into a database by the Tech Team at CHSS. Majors and Minors Click here to find the complete list of majors and minors offered by the CHSS. As these survey come online linked off the Home Page at chss.montclair.edu questions will be added frequently, it reflect what is going on in the community. From the web location http://chss2.montclair.edu:8090/quest.htm you will be able to either take the poll or view the results. Our current question deals with the Y2K issue. The college has long used http://chss.montclair.edu as a home page. That address is now dedicated to our students and web visitors (see below). The new dedicated Faculty and Staff home page is http://chss.montclair.edu/faculty. Instructions are available on how to make this your home page (please write to HOW DO I....? You will find links and information specific to your needs. Ever wonder what forms are needed to do some administrative tasks? Or where to get these forms? Or where they go after you are done with them? There are dozens of questions that can come up when dealing with administrative forms. A search engine has been designed to help you find the information you need. Use the FORMS database link on the Faculty Home Page and you will be taken to a web page where you can enter a keyword (i,e, Travel, ). The result will list any forms that contain the keyword. You will also be cross-referenced to the Procedures Manual and (for some of the forms) to a separate web page that contains a copy of the form that you can download and print from your computer. The Adjunct Lab A lab has been designated for adjuncts and graduate assistants, the location is Room 337 Dickson Hall . There are several MAC's and PC's in this room. The door has a PIN lock; you can get the code from your department secretary. Information Kiosks As soon as you enter the Dickson Hall lobby from the campus side you will notice the addition of two Information Kiosks. These kiosks will display information that is of interest to students and visitors alike. Events, organizations, essential information, locations, and general information will be displayed and updated as necessary. For information about the kiosk presentation, please send an email to chss@mail.montclair.edu. Over the last two semesters secretaries and administrative staff (plus a few interested faculty) have been using this networking tool to organize their calendars and interact with the campus community for meetings, designated locations, and resources. If you are interested in opening a MeetingMaker account, you can call the help line at x7971 and request one. Training is available by calling x5449. The web address http://chss.montclair.edu is now dedicated to our students and web visitors. This site will be used to assist our students in finding needed information and inviting the rest of the world to explore our little corner.
