ABOUT
THIS SITE
Think about it . . .
Would you benefit from a Web site that provided you with
information about the New Jersey regional philosophy scene information about
conferences and events, visiting professors, jobs, etc.?
Would you benefit from a Web site that provided you with the
names, addresses and e-mail addresses of every person teaching philosophy in the New
Jersey area?
Would you benefit from a Web site that would provide you with
information about philosophy programs in New Jersey area colleges and universities
information like numbers of majors, enrollment trends, graduate school admissions, hiring
plans, etc.?
Would you benefit from a Web site that provided information and
tips about the use of information technology in teaching philosophy?
Would you benefit from a Web site where you could post drafts of
papers, preprints and other work-in-progress for comment and discussion by fellow
philosophers?
Would you benefit from a Web site where philosophers seeking
adjunct teaching positions in the New Jersey area could post their résumés and where
departments could find candidates for filling such positions?
Would you benefit from a Web site that offered e-mail list
management services, newsgroup/Web discussion boards and chat rooms designed to encourage
and support dialogue among philosophers in the New Jersey area?
If your answer to even a couple of these questions was "yes," then you might
want to consider helping us to build this site.
Right now,
as you can see, the NJRPA Web site is little more than a glorious ambition. But with
your help, this ambition can be realized and this Web site can be turned into something of
real value for philosophers in the New Jersey area.
