Program Overview

The Concentration in Child/Adolescent Clinical Psychology prepares our graduates to work with a pre-adult population in clinical settings such as hospitals and community mental health centers. Students receive both theoretical training and applied clinical experience as part of the requirements for this Concentration.

Program Admissions & Requirements

We are a rolling admissions program!  Please apply online as via the Office of Graduate Studies when you are ready!

All applicants must meet the admission requirements for graduate study at Montclair State University.  In addition, the applicant must have:

bullet 12 undergraduate credits in psychology including a course in statistics and a laboratory course in experimental psychology
bullet achieve acceptable scores on the general GRE
bullet and be approved by the departmental committee.

What can I do with the M.A. Educational Psychology-- Child/Adolescent Clinical degree?

MA level clinicians are able to do, under supervision and in exempt settings such as hospitals and community mental health centers, virtually anything doctoral level clinicians can do: individual and group psychotherapy, program administrators, psychological testing, etc. However, they cannot do private practice, even under supervision with this degree.
