"Our modern revelation may be a depressing revelation, but at least it is a demythologizing revelation. If the world is terrible, at least we know that our fathers were fools to think otherwise, and that everything they believed and cherished was a lie, or at best superstition" (Hilary Putnam, Human Face, p.136).
"If we believe in the creative effect of contact and collision, connection and exchange, then we require a medium, a way of writing which will live with the impact and conflict of communication between ideas" (Myerson, Rhetoric, Reason and Society, 1994:4).

When I watched the movie I was really disgusted in the actions that were portrayed. If I were put in the position the McMartins I would have acted violently. I would be really angry to be acquitted on false accusations. The movie portrays how society has been conditioned to always expect a conviction when there is a wrongdoing. What ever happened to listen to both sides of the story. For the most part the media had everyone believing the McMartins were child molesters. Thus should we believe in everything we see in the media or is it a form of propaganda in getting better ratings? How could one be proven guilty when there is no evidence and still be easily influenced by the media? It was just unbelievable to see how the McMartins were treated with no respect by the system.
