OK - one more question for those of you who eat this stuff up. Are you hungry Donna D? Re: the "Cognitive dimensions of language transfer" article . . . How does one determine whether a transfer is a subsidiary transfer as opposed to a strategic of automatic transfer? Wouldn't only the speaker know this? How can such tranfers be obectively measured? Can anyone give an example of a subsidiary transfer at the articulatory or morphological level? (It seems the authors have trouble doing so themselves).
