I do agree with you that the type of error stated is of the negative transfer category. But I still would like to think that this becomes "developmental" from the moment someone slows ypu down and tells you that this is the correct pronunciation in LI. It is like you borrowed that pronunciation from your L1 and you tried it in your L2, just like trying an error and in the course of the process you get the correct pronunciation. What do you think?
