Hy guys, I went somewhere yesterday and I was asked a question which I think that your contributions might be helpful to the parents who put forward the question.There is this bilingual couple that has a son; the mom is bilingual English/spanish and the dad is monolingual English. The problem is that they fight all the time because 1) the husband thinks that the wife should start teaching Spanish to their as soon as she can, i.e. at a very early stage, but, 2) the wife thinks that teaching the child at this early stage wiil make him more confused, so she wants to wait until the child is about 10, that is when he must have acquired and mastered all aspects of the English Language. So when they asked me this question, I had to tell them that i was going to discuss it with my classmates and give them the answer later.
If you were in such a situation what would you do?
