After reading this article, I think evidence and empirical data have been given by all the researchers to support their theories. Nevertheless, I tried to understand all three 'positions' and thought that position 3 seems to be 'true'. I think that NNS and NS have "different competence, arrived at by the same means". Further more i suggest that the competences might not be necessarilly outstanding in both cases, but the fact remains that there will be a difference between both competences. Though I find his study to have the best evidence, I am still troubled by White's comment on BIRDSONG'S study when she states that "in general Birdsong's results are very different from those of Coppieters and suggest that near-NSSare similar to, rather than different from, NSS", because i think that there is a difference if we talk in terms of NEAR-NSS and NSS.
What do you think guys?
