I thought the articles required to read for this class were extremely au-courant (that's an SAT word that means, "very up to date" for those non-French majors)! Although I tend to agree with Ken in relation to my opinions about the study of theories - BORING! - I found this class interesting enough to keep me informed but at the same time, motivated. I'm ecstatic to have had interest for the subject I chose to do my mid-term on…Vygotsky and his Zone of Proximal Development (for those of you who forgot my intellectually stimulating PowerPoint presentation ; o) because I feel that I can take what I learned and bring it into the classroom in my future ESL classrooms. I also want to comment on Dr. Sotillo's decision to put together for us the 2 huge (that's an understatement) volumes of "Selected Readings from Various Professional Journals." Not only were the 2 parts affordable (for those of us struggling financially through grad school), they were also the most current ideas/theories/concepts found among linguists today.

It's been fun everyone!!
