It's really difficult for me to think of a solution to this problem because I'm trying to understand every view. Being Christian myself (but not Catholic) and also feeling for those women, it's hard to decide which way to turn. Saying that religious practices should be limited to the church is something you can't tell a person of faith. It is a given that we make known our beliefs to the world in hopes of bringing others into the fold; limiting ourselves to the confines of church would be doing God an injustice. Plus shutting down these hospitals won't help; Catholics are merging with other hospitals that can't make it on their own and that wouldn't be fair to close them when these hospitals are trying so hard to stay open. I absolutely agree that another hospital should be available that will do the procedures Catholic ones choose not to do; these women should at least have that option. I'm definitely not into forcing my beliefs on people, but I do have to enforce them, so I understand that these Catholic hospitals have to manage their facilities within the confines of their faith. I'm definitely torn in this issue because I feel for both situations.
