The reason why I took this course is because term feminist interested me, but I was unsure of what it was all about. I am an English major, and find myself most interested in Women writers. I have decided to pick up the Women Studies minor, mainly because I am already more than halfway to completion of it. Stereotypically I imagine a feminist as a woman wearing a "Men Stink" t-shirt and preaching about how women have been oppressed for centuries. I am not in favor of this stereotype, and I hope that this class will help to disprove the negative images that exist in my mind. Als, I find the subject matter of this class intriguing. I anticipate that this will be a good semester.
