When I read this chapter, I was thinking that these societies praticed there way of life thousands of years ago. What I didn't realize at first was that these "tribes" live as they do today. It amazes me that with the amount of technology that is out there and they don't know any different, that there society has there own culture, that they've kept from there ancesters. It is also amazing how much responiblity is put on the women, other than childrearing. I feel for the young girls in the !Kung, I would run away too. Even now at 24, no less at 11 or 12. Before they even hit puberty, that is insane!
