In the Borderlands/La Frontera book, I find a wonderful recountenance of a culture that has endured persecution and gained an awareness. I thought this "awareness" was most intriguing. We are mostly taught about the rational but, as Anzaldua' points out there is more out there.

In addition, I find a spirituality and philosophy within the text that exists in religion. In part, it is religious as with the belief in La Virgen de Guadalupe. However, as I read on, the vast importance of spirit is more physical and personal. In which, it deals with our surroundings or how we read what we are surrounded by, what it means...

I agree with Anzaldua. But, I don't fantasize it all as much. I think it is in part mystical but, it essentially is a make up of our choices in life . Based on Anzaldua's experience, I find a culture that is scared and rightfully so. In closing, there is a richness of feeling amongst their culture and if you are open to feeling you can find out anything.
