What Anzaldua means by borderlands is the physical border between Texas-U.S. Southwest and Mexico. What she means by the psychological border is the border between male and female, rich and poor, and the border between two cultures. Anzaldua grew up betwee two cultures and that is what she talks about in her narrative. I have not experienced this border as drastically as she has but I have to some extreme. Everyone has,if not personally then they have seen it on the news or heard it from another person. Everywhere ther are two different cultures people experience this border. Here, on campus I hear peaple blurt out racial slurs like it comes naturally to them. We hear things on the news about people getting killed for their money or because of their race.
