The subject that had the most impact on me was the section of cultural tyranny. How the culture, the church, and parents expect women to show greater acceptance of, and commitment to, the value system than men. How they are taught to be subservient to males, have humility and selflessness to their men and their family. Respect is only for the abuela, papa, el patron, and those in power. Women are at the bottom of the respect ladder, just one rung above the deviants. I can't believe that this still goes on in today society especially the expansion of higher education and the trend toward professionalism.
