It was amazing for me to see that women in this culture do not feel safe within themselves. They feel as if the males of all races hunt them as prey. They are petrified and can't respond, their faces caught between los intersticios. These women feel their culture has shacked them in the name of protection. They can't move forward or move back. Someone else is always in control of them. Women are not allowed to make mistakes or take responsiblity. This can have a terrible effect on her life when she trys to move away and build her own sense of idenity because she has been hidden away from reality and now must confront it on her own. This culture can hinder a women's autonomy forever.
