Kristen, I totally agree with you about the Spanish writing. I find myself wanting to know what the spanish says and I think that I am missing something because my spanish is only elementary-(I only took two semesters). I have also been one to get offended by racial jokes, even if they are not against me. I think that they represent an ignorance, even if the "joker" claims he or she is not racist. As for Borderlands, I think that it is a beautifully written book. One can tell that this book has been written from the heart. Also, I could really get a mental picture of the territory, and of what she is talking about when she mentions the two different kinds of borders. This book seems like it has been written from a perspective that is often overlooked. I am looking forward to learning more about the historical aspects that this book has to offer. ~Maureen Pierson =)
