You should read "Witchcraze" (written by historian Anne Lewellyn Barstow). It's really painful to read. I learned a lot about the barbaric misogynistic nature of Maximilian, the Bavarian duke, in torturing and burning poor women alive (Anna Pappenheimer). You will also learn about the Scottish "prickers." I am still angry when I think of the horrible fate that befell all these innocent women.
